World of Hyatt: The Go-To Hotel Brand for Travel Rewards Enthusiasts

Hyatt is my favorite hotel brand for using points and miles! While I also like Marriott and Hilton, I find that I get way more value from my points when I book stays with Hyatt using credit card rewards.

How to Maximize Value with Hyatt Stays

To get the most out of your points, it’s important to know how to transfer them to travel partners. Here’s a simple breakdown:

  • Transferring Points: This means moving your points from one travel site to another, converting them into that site's points.

Example with Ultimate Rewards

Steps to Book Hyatt Stays with Points

  1. Transfer Points: When I want to book a Hyatt stay, I first check how many points I need on Hyatt’s website.

  2. Check Points Needed: If I need approximately 60,000 points for a stay, I log into my Chase account.

  3. Transfer: I transfer the exact 60,000 Ultimate Rewards points to my Hyatt account.

  4. Book My Stay: Once transferred, I can book my stay directly on Hyatt’s website.

Important Note: Once you transfer your points to Hyatt, you can't move them back to Chase. That's why I only transfer points when I'm ready to book and only the amount I need, so I keep my other points flexible.

Why Hyatt is a Great Choice

You might be thinking this sounds complicated, and I totally get that! I felt the same way when I first started using points and miles. But transferring your points is key to getting the most value. Here’s why:

Value Example

  • 120,000 Ultimate Rewards Points:

    • Worth approximately $1,200 if cashed out.

    • Worth approximately $1,500 in travel if booked through Chase Travel℠.

    • But if I transfer those points to Hyatt for a stay at the Grand Hyatt New York:

      • They can be worth around $4,500!

      • The hotel costs between 25,000 and 35,000 points per night.

      • During off-peak times, it’s just 25,000 points per night for a room that typically costs over $800 if booked in cash.

Using the same 120,000 points through Chase Travel℠, I might only get one or two nights at that Hyatt!

Credit Cards for Earning Hyatt Points

In addition to the great value Hyatt offers, there are many credit cards that earn points for Hyatt stays. This allows you to accumulate a lot of Hyatt points over time!

Conclusion

In summary, Hyatt offers incredible value when it comes to redeeming points for stays, making it my top choice for using points and miles. By understanding how to transfer your Ultimate Rewards points and strategically booking stays, you can unlock amazing opportunities for travel at a fraction of the cost. Whether you’re enjoying a luxurious getaway at the Grand Hyatt New York or exploring other Hyatt properties, your points can stretch much further with the right approach.

So, start maximizing your travel rewards today! With a little planning and the right credit cards, you can turn your travel dreams into reality. Happy travels, and may your next adventure be just around the corner!
